It is highly soluble in water, partly soluble in alcohol and insoluble in oil. This powder has a moisturising effect at low concentrations (0.1-0.5%) while providing exfoliating properties and promoting cell proliferation at higher concentrations (1-5%). It can be used in after-shave products and acne creams. Allantoin is also beneficial for damaged hair and nail care.
