Holbein Artists' Gouache is the industry standard in water-based, opaque artist colors. The buttery smooth paint body is strongly pigmented with bright, bold color. When applied thickly, it's extremely opaque, even over dark colors. Because it's more direct and requires less complex layering than watercolor, gouache is the sketching medium preferred by many artists and art schools.

This set of eighteen small (5 mL) tubes is a great way to sample a wide range of Holbein gouache colors. It's ideal for artists making small, quick sketches, because there's not much need to mix colors with this many options in the box. The colors included are Permanent White, Ivory Black, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna, Prussian Blue, Ultramarine Deep, Peacock Blue, Terre Verte, Permanant Green Deep, Yellow Ochre, Jaune Brillant #2, Lemon Yellow, Permanent Yellow, Permanent Yellow Orange, Chinese Orange, Flame Red, Carmine, and Emerald Green.

Made in Japan.
